PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

by Chris on Aug.18, 2005, under Uncategorized

Just letting y'all know I've reversed the order of comments, so they follow chronologically. Just makes things easier to read when bazillions* of people hold conversations in them.

*BAZILLIONS is not an actual term. I made it up. Please don't flame me, Spelling Nazi haters.

Edit: Hmm, looks like it is an 'actual' term

The Mole-Dog

by Chris on Aug.15, 2005, under Personal

I just had to share. Sheba is a ridiculously high energy ball of fluff, that loves to get into the dirtiest, smelliest, muddiest of places imaginable, which makes digging and watering flower beds a royal pain. We had to buy a compost bin yesterday to keep her out of the decomposing muck!

But miraculously, her fur seems to be a dirt repellant. As soon as the mud in this pic dried up, she was good as new!

How you know she’s a keeper…

by Chris on Aug.14, 2005, under Uncategorized

While expounding to Lina the internet phenomenon that can be so sweetly summarised in two words, The Hoff, she casually remarked that she thought she might have one of her moms's old Hoff CD's (!!)

I couldn't believe I could possibly be in the very same house as a Hoff album, and vowed to hunt it down and see what this German-American miracle really had to offer the world of music.

It's really remarkable how one man can rip off so many other 80's icons in one album, in 1995. It's very Village People meets Boney M meets Modern Talking meets everybody else, with a couple of German ensembles thrown in for good measure.

I really can't put in words how delightfully tasteful and pleasing to the ears this man's voice is, so I'll refer to some other folks who are more eloquent than I am (scroll down the page to customer reviews, it's worth the read, I promise!!)

Some big news

by Chris on Aug.10, 2005, under Uncategorized

Yesterday (National Womens Day) I decided it was make or break time to embark on the next step in this awfully big adventure called Life.

Yes, I popped the question to my darling girlfriend Lina, who I am delighted to say is now my fiancee!

After the house and the dog, I guess it was inevitable, but that doesn't make saying it out loud any easier. And doing it on a glass of home squeezed lemonade is downright torture when your stomach's turning inside out, but I managed nevertheless and am a happier man for it.

Battle of the Browsers

by Chris on Aug.03, 2005, under Uncategorized

Hmm, while mucking around trying to tweak the look of my blog, I realised that Internet Explorer really is a backwards browser. It doesn't support alpha transparency in PNG files, which means to get my theme to look half-way decent in IE, I had to convert them all to GIFs, and making tweaking of the colours a heck of a lot more complicated in the process.

I've been using FireFox for ages, so I only noticed this when checking browser compatibility of my site.

In the spirit of the whole FireFox Rules! campaign, I've added a little button at the bottom of the page to help share the love. Get your copy of FireFox today!

Oh, and Quinn, these colours aren't permanent. It's a process )

[Edit] Seems like IE7 will support PNG alpha, whenever MS may feel like releasing it.

Salad Fingers Returns…

by Chris on Aug.03, 2005, under Uncategorized

My heart leapt with joy when I visited fat-pie and saw Salad Fingers 6 was available. My heart isn't the only organ doing acrobatics now … my stomach is turning in uncomfortable patterns too. Possibly the weirdest and sickest one yet, along the lines of milk-man. Not for the faint of heart.

Speaking of weird flash, seems like weebl (mystical creator of badgerbadgerbadger) has completely overhauled his website, and you can now sort his toons by date and popularity. I'll let you decide where the 'poo and wee song' fits in. I haven't got the guts right now to watch it.
