The scary internet…
The internet is a scary place. You think you’re in this vast anonymous ether, but you’re really not. To prove it, I thought I’d add in this cool plugin that will add your country flag when you add comments.
This uses the free country-ip database from ip2nation.com, but you get way more advanced databases than that that can pinpoint you right down to your ISP (see ip2location.com if you don’t believe me!)

it’s just insidious, isn’t it?

hmmm… sadly it puts me in the UK… but Wales is a country!! I promise…

Heh, sorry Mike. Even if I did hack around under the hood to custom-link your IP with the Welsh flag, your precious Dragon doesn’t scale too well down to 18×12. I just took a stab at it and it comes out looking like a very red turkey…

Well there, Mike…I did it. But if you post from anywhere other than where you work or from home, you’ll show up as the good old Union Jack…I’m not going to keep a live list of Fletcher-IPs. Live with it

YAY! Thanx Chris
of course, when my modem renews it’s IP address it may all change again. it does look a bit like a turkey, but hey, better than nothing!

Amusing amusing :). Does Antarctica have a national flag? I want that one.

Well, I’ll tell you what. Go to Antarctica, find an internet cafe and leave a comment, then we’ll see.
