Visual TraceRoute in Google Earth
Run the following at a command prompt:
tracert [someurl] > tracert.txt
replace [someurl] (brackets included) with the site you want to trace the route to. For example:
tracert www.hokemon.com > tracert.txt
Once this is finished (it could take a minute or two), click the Browse button below and select the tracert.txt file you just created.
This will then be uploaded and the path will be converted into geographic coordinates (where possible) and a Google Earth KML file will be returned. Open this up in Google Earth and see how you got here!
Comments welcome at the following address: kmltracert[at]hokemon.com (replace [at] with @, obviously)
Privacy policy: For your security (and mine!!) none of the information you upload is stored anywhere, and the uploaded file is destroyed as soon as the KML output has been created. Your privacy is guaranteed!
